Dr. Jennifer Seger is board certified in family medicine and has been a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) since 2012. In addition to her primary job of being a mom to five children, she practices obesity medicine exclusively in a combined medical/surgical comprehensive weight loss program. Dr. Seger served as a Trustee on the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) Board, now the Obesity Medicine Association, from 2012-2014 and played a key role in developing the Obesity Algorithm, presented by ASBP in 2013. She currently serves as the Chair of the Obesity Algorithm Committee for the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), formerly ASBP. Dr. Seger was appointed to the Item Writing Committee for ABOM in 2014 and received the Outstanding Bariatrician Award from ASBP in 2014. Dr. Seger teaches in the nutrition elective at the UT Medical School at San Antonio and offers elective rotations in obesity medicine for medical students and advanced practitioner students. Outside of her work in the office, Dr. Seger enjoys speaking to community groups and organizations about healthy living and the prevention and treatment of obesity.
Dr. Seger is the current President of the Texas State Chapter for the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and is a partner at BMI of Texas.
Mr. Sander is a San Antonio native and has been a registered cardiovascular invasive specialist (RCIS) since 1988. In April 2015, he underwent bariatric surgery using the gastric sleeve procedure.
